About
Lydia Ruter: Bio
Hello! I am a nonprofit professional, leader, and coach. My career has always been grounded in the pursuit of creating a more equitable world through practical economic solutions from education to housing to financial empowerment. Both in and outside of my day jobs, I have spent time engaging in learning and advocacy for changing the systems that perpetuate racial and gender disparities in wealth and well-being.
I believe deeply in coaching as a meaningful and effective approach to cultivating change and growth. I view people as capable, resourceful and whole. Coaching is a space to dedicate time, intention, and reflection to challenges and goals that you want to dig into. As a coach, I am here to support you in gaining clarity and focus, resolving ambiguity and ambivalence, identifying the resources you need and the action plan to accomplish what you set out to do. I will create space for you to think deeply, I will ask challenging questions, and I will support you and empathize along the way. I will also provide the accountability that you are looking for to do what you say you want to do.
Here's a quick overview of where I have invested my time in the past decade and a half.
Work: I started my career with a focus on safe, affordable housing and I think about housing as a key determinant of both financial and personal health.
